We will continually update this blog post, as events warrant, throughout the storm.
Remnants of Hurricane Michael are expected to hit the southeast while many North Carolinians are still recovering from Hurricane Florence.
In anticipation of Michael’s potential impact, Governor Roy Cooper has declared a state of emergency for more than half the counties in our state.

EARLY PRESCRIPTION REFILLS DURING EMERGENCIES
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) takes steps to ensure customers have access to health care and the medications they need when a storm or other emergency occurs.
Due to the declared state of emergency, we’re allowing early refills to ensure impacted members have enough medicine to get through the storm. This is in effect until Gov. Cooper ends the emergency declaration.
Customers who have questions about prescription refills or other services should call the customer service number on the back of their member card. In addition, pharmacies who have questions should call the Blue Cross NC pharmacy desk.
