Early Prescription Refills During Winter Storm

If information changes, we will continually update this blog post throughout the winter storm.

Due to the imminent threat of severe winter weather, Gov. Roy Cooper has declared a state of emergency for all 100 North Carolina counties.

EARLY PRESCRIPTION REFILLS DURING EMERGENCIES

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) takes steps to ensure customers have access to health care and the medications they need when an emergency occurs.

Because of the declared state of emergency, we’re allowing early refills to ensure impacted members have enough medicine to get through the storm. These steps are in effect until Gov. Cooper ends the emergency declaration.

Customers who have questions about prescription refills or other services should call the customer service number on the back of their member card. In addition, pharmacies who have questions should call the Blue Cross NC pharmacy desk.
