How to Use Teladoc

“I need to see the doctor, what are my options?”

Sometimes it’s a visit to your doctor’s office. Other times it’s an appointment with the closest urgent care. Rarely (we hope) it’s a visit to the emergency room. And far too often, it’s a Google search that leaves you feeling convinced you could have any and every illness under the sun.

But there’s another option that’s faster than a doctor’s appointment, more convenient than urgent care, and, well, a heck of a lot more official than your Google search (no offense).

Meet Teladoc:

Teladoc is a telehealth service that allows you to speak with a doctor by phone, web, or mobile app in under 10 minutes. Teladoc is designed to handle a wide-range of non-emergency illness, like sinus problems, respiratory infection, allergies, urinary tract infection, the cold, and flu symptoms.

They can prescribe medications and will let you know if you need to see a doctor in-person or follow up with any additional visits.

What does Teladoc cost?

As a Friday member, you can access Teladoc and speak to a doctor online or over the phone for a $45 flat fee with any Friday health plan. (This is an added service to your health plan, so it does not go to your deductible.)

Here’s how to access Teladoc:

You can access Teladoc two ways:

  1. Through your Member Portal. Simply log into your account and click on the Teladoc link.
  2. Visit Teladoc directly at this link and create an account.

It’s a great idea to set up your account now, even if you don’t need it today, so it’s ready to go when you need the service.
